Multiple fire departments were battling a blaze in extreme southeast Jasper County late Tuesday afternoon, and fortunately they were able to quickly get a handle on it. The wildfire broke out along

Multiple fire departments were battling a blaze in extreme southeast Jasper County late Tuesday afternoon, and fortunately they were able to quickly get a handle on it. The wildfire broke out along County Road 826, about 8 miles southeast of Evadale.

Departments on scene included Evadale, Mauriceville, and Buna, along with the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Shortly before 5:00, firefighters said Forest Service bulldozers had been deployed and they had the blaze under control.

There’s no word on how it may have started.
